Reflections on Time, Conciousness and Enlightenment

By Kiara Windrider January 2004

We assume that time is linear. We assume that time flows in one direction only. We assume that everyone experiences time in exactly the same way. We assume that reality consists of our journey through space in linear time. We have built our version of reality according to our version of time, and therefore assume that there is only one reality composed of discrete events in space and time which everyone experiences in exactly the same way.

Imagine a world where this wasn’t true. What if time were simply the invention of our linear minds? What if time were a reflection of our state of our consciousness? Would our experience of time change if our state of consciousness changed? What would happen if we entered a state of consciousness where linear time simply disappeared? Would our current realities also disappear?

As I talk with people who have become enlightened, one of the recurring themes seems to be that there is no sense of a separate mind. The mind becomes simply a vehicle through which a vast library of information can funnel through when needed, and remaining silent when not needed. As the mind hooks up to this cosmic continuum, multiple realities simultaneously blend together in a way that the linear flow of time becomes meaningless. Reality is no longer experienced in the framework of a single linear timeline. Multiple co-existing timelines open up, and multi-dimensional awareness becomes the normal experience of reality.

The Mayan calendar refers to the year 2012 AD as the end of linear time. The Book of Revelations likewise speaks about the seventh angel blowing his trumpet, and in that moment “time shall be no more”. The Hopis speak of entering the Fifth World beyond time. If becoming enlightened means that one is no longer bound by linear time, we may begin to grasp a little of what the ancients meant by these mysterious references to the end

of time. Could it be that this end of time is related to the mass enlightenment of humanity by the year 2012?

As I reflect on what this might look like, a scenario comes to mind. Perhaps, if 3-D consciousness is related to our experience of linear time, there are other states of consciousness that become part of our collective reality once we achieve mass enlightenment. Perhaps as we move past linear time in the year 2012, we experience what we could call synchronistic time, a dimension where multiple timelines could co-exist simultaneously.

Evolution has a way of inexorably moving forward, and Mother Earth has already committed herself to her Ascension, a term sometimes used to refer to this dimensional shift. However, there may be individuals who choose to not be responsive to these evolutionary energies, to continue their experience of separation and duality. Could it be that as we reach the end of linear time, a number of simultaneous timelines could open up for soul groups choosing various options of growth? Could it be that the physical body itself becomes attuned to the unified consciousness that enlivens it, breaking out of the conditioned barriers of linear space and time, simultaneously operating in two or more co-existing timelines?

Could this be our collective experience of time after 2012? Perhaps there will continue to be a 3-d hologram for those who need the lessons of duality. For them, perhaps the year 2012 may come and go and apparently nothing much will have changed. Simultaneously, perhaps there will be a mass enlightenment process for those who wish to merge their consciousness with the unified light. These people, in the twinkling of an eye, might find themselves on a “new earth” of unimaginable beauty and potential. Perhaps there will be many such timelines for those who have come together in specific soul groupings for specific purposes!

According to the Mayan researcher, Carl Calleman, we have now entered, since 1999 AD, a Galactic Creation Cycle. In this cycle, time is experienced as being tremendously speeded up. The electrical circuitry of our brain simply “shorts out” in response to heightened galactic radiations, and many people find that as their mind overloads or shuts down, they are entering into states of either emotional breakdown or heightened consciousness. This process will intensify further as we move into the Universal Cycle in the year 2011. By this time, according to the Mayan calendar, we will not have a choice to be on the sidelines anymore.

Ironically, many will find that their search for ‘enlightenment’ will come to an end. If there is only one Mind, there is only one Enlightenment. The illusion of a separate mind is also the illusion of a separate enlightenment. As we let go of this illusion the collective enlightenment can happen.

It is important to understand that enlightenment does not mean the cessation of mind. The mind is an important tool. Every stage of evolution includes every stage that has gone before, and therefore to become enlightened includes the ability to use the mind as never before. The problem is that in our pre-enlightened state of consciousness we are constantly bombarded by interference patterns emanating from the astral dimensions, the realm of collective human consciousness, which comprise our patterns of mass conditioning. Thus, we become automatons trapped in an endless cycle of ”static” rather than being open to truly creative ideas from higher dimensional realities.   Instead of using our minds to explore the vast dimensions of creation, we become used by the mind whose only purpose is to perpetrate itself.

May all beings be happy. May all beings be peaceful. May all beings be liberated.
